Bringing on the flood

I live down in the valley
I've toiled through sweat and blood
All my year end harvest, crumbles into dust
No one seems to care that I am bringing on the flood.

The merciless sun above me
Has scortched my last good calf
I pray the clouds will salvage, whatever I have left
But if'n those prayers ain't answered soon they'll break this man in half.

I had dreams for my son
There are things I'd rather have done
With my life
Don't think twice
'Bout bringing on the flood.

I'll lay down in the valley
In a boneyard void of mud
My dried up wife will cry out, 'neith a blazing sun
A shotgun weeping is my last resort to bringing on the flood
A shotgun weeping is my last resort to bringing on the flood
